Valentine Tree
January 23, 2009
I have been wanting a white tree, but I am trying to be good about money (like all of you xoxox). So I was at Target (of course) and on the clearance rack was a $4.00 tree. Well I could not say no to that ?
I decided to set up a Valentine Tree. My topper is this amazing Valentine made by Mrs. Staggs. I can not tell you how much I love this valentine. Thank you Mrs. Staggs xoxoxo
I found this hand-painted valentine in the pages of a very old book. I love to think who it was for and who painted it.
I added some vintage Valentine's and some made by you readers from a valentine swap a few years back. The beautiful fabric heart at the bottom of the tree is made by Paula. Isn't it perfectly, beautiful ??? She is a very talented seamstress and hopefully one day will open a shop. So as you can see this is a tree full of love !!!!
What a wonderful idea. Goes to show that Christmas trees aren't just for Christmas!

Hi Clarice,
I'd forgotten about making that Valentine. It looks nice as a topper for your wonderful tree. What a pleasant surprise. I'm glad that you like it.
Your tree is so nice. I love the rick rack used as trim. I think a white tree is perfect, and that one sure was a great price. I'd like to make a tree for my valentines too, but I only have a wire one. I like it, but white is a lot nicer for Valentine's Day. I'll have to think of a way to perk it up, to make it as cheerful and pretty as yours. I love your patchwork runner.

What a lovely, unique idea! I just love the Valentine's tree!
I see it as a way to lessen the sadness at having to put away Christmas things for another year - one tree down and another one up!
Thank you for sharing it with us!

Great idea! I love how you have decorated the tree with red ric rac! I love red and white together, it just seems cheerful! Paula's fabric heart is just beautiful!

Lucky you! I looked for a white tree at Target after Christmas and couldn't find one! I think I'll just use branches unless I get lucky somewhere before V-Day!
The Valentine from Mrs. Staggs is wonderful! She's such a sweet lady. The tree is so pretty - love the touch of red rickrack!
