Thankful Ornament

Thankful cross

I always like to have a little something for my guests to take home. Auberne' and I cut out these crosses from pretty card stock. Glued small acorns in the center (thank you, who sent me these, you know who you are. You are the sweetest xoxoxo) Also small pine-cones, leaves, corn kernels would work. I will have pens on-hand and let each person write what they are thankful for on their cross. I plan after dinner, to punch a hole in the top and add a ribbon, so they can hang them on their Christmas tree.

Your menu sounds delicious, but what else could it be coming out of your charming kitchen. We had very few acorns this year...perhaps this means a mild winter?? It has been 20 degrees colder than normal for the last couple of weeks though so I am not hopeful. Maybe better acorns for picking next year.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your Mom and hope David feels better soon.

The Pleasures of Homemaking

Hi Clarice!

What a lovely idea! I love that you'll then make then into Christmas ornaments they can use.

Oh, so sweet! What a wonderful Thanksgiving gift to take home and then continue using through Christmas!

You are the nicest!!
How lovely to be a guest in your home.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I think that's a wonderful idea Clarice. Today many people spend so much time moaning they haven't time to think about being thankful. I like this quotation, I expect you've heard it. 'Joy comes NOT from getting what you want, but wanting what you've got.' Very True!

A beautiful idea in its simplicity. Sometimes we forget all that is good in our world and taking a moment to be thankful fan only add to our day.

I like the dual duty your guests will get from these dinner favors. Smart and pretty too.

Oh Clarice,

These are so sweet! You are so creative and thoughtful! You and Auberne` did a wonderful job! I love the photo, so pretty and the tablecloth is gorgeous! The acorns look sweet on the pretty cross. I love your idea of writing what you are thankful for and using them as Christmas ornaments! You are making beautiful memories for your dear ones!

what a sweet idea - simple and thoughtprovoking.

Such a nice decoration.......

I love this gesture.
The true meaning of being thankful is- being thankful.
Don't let the squirrels see the acorns!
