The Making of a Marchioness

When I read

"WHEN Miss Fox-Seton descended from the twopenny bus as it drew up, she gathered her trim tailor-made skirt about her with neatness and decorum, being well used to getting in and out of twopenny buses and to making her way across muddy London streets."

at Amazon about The Making Of A Marchioness, it peeked my intrest. Plus it is by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I was wondering if anyone has read this? Did you enjoy it? If you have not read it, it is on-line. I love it when that happens !!!

Thanks Clarice, I've never read it but it sounds good. Right now I'm reading Lark Rise to Candleford, then it's on to The Magic Apple Tree by Susan Hill.
Enjoy your evening,

OH! I love her books - especially The Lost Prince - one of my favorites - I'll look this up! Thank you!

Did you find out more about this book? I haven't heard of it before, but will try to get my hands on it! By one of my favorite authors, it has to be fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

Gumbo Lily

Sounds like one of those "gentlewoman" books that I would enjoy. By the way, what is a Marchioness?

Don't you just love visiting the Gutenberg online library. It's such a wonderful idea and an amazing project. One of the best uses of the internet, I think.
I haven't read this book, but you sure have tempted me!
Thank you for your kindness and thoughts this morning. I really appreciate them.
Hope you have a beautiful day!
