Kitchen Queen
September 13, 2006
I am the most blessed girl in the world. A dear friend (who asked to remain anonymous) gave me free her kitchen queen. It is from 1910, has a flour sifter, a glass window so you can check the level of the flour. I took a dress of Chloe's when she was little girl, I lined the upper cabinet with it and made a little half curtain. It is this wonderful little red riding hood fabric, my good friend Christy made the dress for Chloe. I have saved it waiting to do something special with the fabric. The lower door, is in bad shape the veneer is peeling off. I did the red work piece (the first one I have ever done) but was not sure when to do with it. It is perfect inset on the door. I am so thrilled with the kitchen queen. It s so wonderful to have such a piece of history in my home. Thank you are such a dear friend (You know who you are) xoxoxoxox
Oh Clarice, It is just beautiful!! What a wonderful treasure!

Oh Clarice, what a wonderful gift! I have a hoosier cabinet sooo similar ~ they're great storage. I think the half curtain you added looks very charming, and I love the redwork you did! ~ what a great job.

Oh my goodness! You are quite lucky and have a wonderful friend. That is really, really beautiful. I've always coveted something like that. It is nice to know it is in the hands of someone that appreciates it so much.

What an incredible gift Clarice. You are so lucky and I imagine it fits perfectly in your house. I can't wait to one day see everything and hopefully show you my cottage as well.

Oh! Oh! I absolutely love it. What a sweeet and generous friend you must have... Have fun with your hoosier cabinet--I enjoy rolling out pie crusts on mine while imagining the other women who must have used it so very long ago... Thanks for sharing the pictures! Blessings, Debra

Love your hoosier! We found one a few months ago in Kentucky (where my in~laws live) so there it sits until the house is built!
The little red riding hood fabric is great!

I have one very similar to yours. And I keep my computer in it.
The top doors are for storage, the two big doors, but mine slide back instead of open, it holds the tower and all. Then the door at the bottom holds my printer and cds. I can even put my flat screen monitor in with the tower, shut it up and you would never know it was there.

How wonderful! I have one of those in my kitchen too. It gets a lot of use as a desk/bread machine nook!
