Hello friends.
I hope you are all feeling well! I wanted to share with you another story I wrote. This one was a dream I had a few nights ago. I had been feeling a bit depressed and not very happy. After a particularly hard day, I could not get to sleep. No matter how hard I tried my eyes would not stay closed. So whenever I cannot go to sleep I listen to some classical music. I put my headphones on and listened to "Song from a Secret Garden" and it helped me to fall asleep. But then I had this dream. When I woke up I knew I had to write it down and this is what came out.
~^*^~
Everything was black. No light, no warmth, no happiness. Just fear, sadness, loss, regret.
"Help me." A tiny voice broke the eerie darkness.
"Help me."
The frail voice belonged to a little girl, no more than five. Trapped, afraid of what might be hiding in the shadows of her mind. Cowering in fear, she let out another cry, a desperate plea for help.
"Can anybody hear me?" There was no reply.
"Anybody? Please". Still there was only silence.
"... Please ... help me ... save me ... somebody ... anybody ...?"
the little girl cried out again, but there was no reply. She was all alone, all alone in the shadows of hear mined. Was there really nobody who cared? Nobody who loved her?
"Help me! I'm scared... I'm scared! He's coming... he's coming to hurt me!"
the tiny child heard loud footsteps coming closer, gating louder with each step.
"Please, help me!"
The little girl cried out in terror. She tried to get up and run but tripped over something around her feet and fell. The frightened girl looked down at her feet and saw the chains tightly wound around her ankles, binding her to the ground.
"There’s nowhere to run."
A dark, eerie voice of a man spoke behind her, getting closer. The little girl became frantic and began to claw at the chains around her. All the while the footsteps became louder, getting closer and closer. "Somebody, save me!" Closer and closer.
"Someone, please!" Closer and closer. He was right on top of her!
"HELP ME!"
The girl’s cry rang out, cutting though the darkness. Time seemed to stop, as if everything around her was frozen. Suddenly a stream of light broke the silence. The creature on top of her howled in pain, it cowered in the light and ran away. The tiny child looked up at the light, wondering what it was. She then saw a man, not like the one who was chasing her but a tall, kind looking man. The girl could not see his face but she didn't feel afraid of him.
"Are you the one who called for me, little one?"
His voice was kind and gentle. The girl nodded slowly. The kind man held his hand out for her to take, but she coward under his gaze.
"Please don't be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you."
The little girl looked up at him and could now see him clearly. His hair was brown and curly, his blue eyes were filled with joy and peace, his face was as kind as his voice. With a gentle smile he reached his hand out to her again.
"Our Father heard your cries for help and sent me to bring you out of the darkness." The girl tilted her head in confusion.
"OUR Father?"
"Yes."
The man replied, he stood up straight, his hand still outstretched for her, his large white wings now visible in the brilliant light.
"My Father, your Father. He's been watching over you, waiting for the day you'd call Him."
the girl’s eyes widened in surprise. Someone cares, someone is waiting for her, someone loves her. She looks at the angel in front of her and at his outstretched hand.
"Let’s go home."
The angel said smiling. The little girl felt tears running down her face. She reaches out and takes the angels hand. The chains around her ankles disappear and she runs into the arms of her angel. He holds her close in his arms.
"You don't have to be afraid anymore." He whispers in her ear.
"Because I'll be here for you always. You’re not alone."
~^*^~
Well there you go. That's what I dream about. It’s hard to convey a dream like that in a story and give it justice. I'm not to sure I got it down right but I'm still happy with how I turned out. What do you think about it? I hope to see you all soon.
